Google rolled out Panda 4.0 update today. They confirmed that they have released a new algorithm update and started rolling out a ranking update from this past weekend for “spammy queries” such as payday loan, pornographic or heavily spammed queries.

According to Search Engine Land, Google’s spokesperson told:

Over the weekend we began rolling out a new algorithmic update. The update was neither Panda nor Penguin – It was the next generation of an algorithm that originally rolled out last summer for very spammy queries.

This update is an international rollout for different languages and for English queries it would be about 0.2%.

Matt Cutts, Head of Webspam team at Google announced the update back in 2013.
